Lake Lunga Park open 7 days a week, sunrise to sunset.

After years of closure, Lunga Park at Marine Corps Base Quantico is back and better than ever! Nestled around the historic Lunga Reservoir, this beautiful park offers a refreshing escape for nature lovers, families, and outdoor enthusiasts.

Lunga Reservoir, the largest body of water on MCBQ, spans an impressive 477 acres. With a watershed of 6,880 acres and a water storage capacity of 7.75 billion gallons. The reservoir is home to a diverse fish population, including largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, chain pickerel, black crappie, and yellow perch.

Park Features and Activities

Lunga Park is now open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset. Visitors can launch personal watercraft during these hours with a convenient self-check-in process. Rentals are available during Boathouse hours, making it easy to get out on the water even if you don't have your own equipment.

THE IMPORTANT STUFF

Per DoD policies, only authorized patrons (and guests) of MWR may be permitted access to Lunga Park in accordance with base access policies.

Pets: Furry friends are welcome but must be kept on a leash.

Water Safety: Please note that wading and swimming are not allowed in Lunga Park.

Anyone launching a personal boat (includes kayaks and canoes) and all anglers are required to obtain all necessary permits (see below) and check in and out using Quantico iSportsman.  Please register for an iSportsman account and obtain permits prior to coming on MCBQ. We did call and ask if you could paddle board and they said no.
