Looking for the best burger in Fredericksburg?

In this episode of Give, Work, Play, Ginger is on the hunt for the best hamburger in Downtown Fredericksburg. Join me, Ginger, as Chelsea and I taste burgers with bacon and barbecue sauce to egg and avocado so you can get an idea of the tasty burgers in the burg!

Rebellion Bourbon Bar & Kitchen

Our first stop for a juicy burger is Rebellion Bourbon Bar & Kitchen, known for its delicious hamburgers and crispy tater tots (if you know me, you know she is addicted to their tots). We asked to try their most popular burger: the Ramsay Bolton. This burger features a whiskey bacon jam and aged cheddar on top of a juicy patty, all sandwiched between sesame buns.

While I don’t like bacon, the smoky sweet flavor is really good. The tater tots are also worth the trip. You’ll definitely want to check out this local hot spot for a tasty bite.

Sammy T’s

Our next stop is Sammy T’s, home of my favorite burger ever: the Bean & Grain Burger. I always order it with a side of their signature lemon tahini sauce for extra flavor, dunking my burger in it.  This vegetarian option is truly delicious.

The Bean & Grain comes with mixed greens, tomato, pickled red onion, and sweet chili mustard. They also offer extra-crispy sweet potato fries served with a side of dipping sauce that you’ve got to try. They also have their Gourmet burger that allows you to add extra toppings. We chose egg and avocado, a delicious addition to this juicy meal.

Sunken Well Tavern

The last stop on our burger journey in Fredericksburg is the Sunken Well Tavern. Here, we ordered two of their most popular burgers: the Dirty Burger and the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger. These massive burgers are served with huge, crispy onion rings on the side.

The Dirty Burger is topped with house chili, shredded cheese, onions, and crème fraiche. It’s very messy to eat, but the chili is very good. The BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger has huge pieces of bacon and delicious barbecue sauce. While again, I’m not a fan of bacon, this burger is delicious. The resident patio cat, Archie, approved of both options; he was happy to eat a few tidbits of each.

And The Winner Is….

Of course, my favorite is the Bean & Grain burger at Sammy T’s. When it comes to sides, Sunken Well’s onion rings blew me away. And if we’re just comparing meat burgers, Sammy T’s Gourmet burger with the egg and avocado takes the cake.

After trying five burgers, I was definitely in a burger coma. However, it was all worth it to find the best burgers here in Fredericksburg, Virginia. All of them were truly amazing, and each restaurant impressed me—from the service and the food to the décor and ambiance.

I hope you enjoy trying these restaurants to see which one is your favorite. If you have any questions about Fredericksburg or are looking to make this area home, feel free to reach out to me and I’d be happy to help.
