Central Virginia Horse Rescue, Inc is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the compassionate care of equines.

Their mission is to save, protect, and rehabilitate equines in need in the state of Virginia.

They rescue unwanted, abused, neglected, or abandoned equines; provide them with care and rehabilitation; and finally find them a compatible, loving home.

“We believe that education is the long-term solution to improving the lives of equines.”

They have approximately 100 volunteers and about 30 of them are here regularly. A lot of their volunteers, this is their first time working with horses and others have owned horses in the past. They even have a program for younger volunteers.

BARN KIDS CLUB (for younger volunteers)

The Barn Kids Club is for their younger visitors and volunteers ages 5-16. The Club promotes responsible horsemanship through hands-on education to potential future horse owners and supporters.

The Club is an educational membership based group for children between the ages of 5-16. Children can become Hands-On members and join them for monthly Hands-On activities at their Fredericksburg location and to participate in horse activities that relate to the monthly topics.  Most of their hands on meetings will not include riding but there will be several opportunities to ride over the year.
