Keegan Kaczmar, a sophomore at Colonial Forge High School in Stafford, wanted to do something for sick children at Children's National Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

After hearing Ginger Walker talking on B101.5 with Dee Daniels about "Fill Dr. Bear's Closet" he was inspired and he asked if he could challenge his neighborhood to make donations in honor of a friend who had been in a Children's Hospital for over 6 months.

And boy did Keegan's neighborhood turnout! Keegan had his mom make a post on their community Facebook page where he challenged his neighbors to make donations of playdough, matchbox cars and coloring books. "I wanted to ask for items that weren't too expensive so that everyone could be apart of the drive to fill Dr. Bear's Closet." They also posted a link to the list of items Children's National Hospital was looking for and as you can tell from the video above, his neighbors went above and beyond. Keegan's goal was 100 donations and after a few days he had already surpassed his goal, made his first drop off to the Give Back Team of Coldwell Banker Elite and he hopes to make this an annual event in his neighborhood.

This is not the first time Keegan has done fundraising during the pandemic and I am sure it will not be the last.
