Operation Hood is a small TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) organization that works to partner with the community to educate and support individuals who need assistance with TNR.

The benefits of TNR are:

  • ️️️Trap-Neuter-Return relieves cats of the constant stresses of mating and pregnancy

  • Mating behaviors cease, like roaming, yowling, spraying, and fighting

  • Cats’ physical health improves

  • Cats are vaccinated against rabies

  • Cats live long, healthy lives

Part of the TNR process is ear tipping the cat’s left ear so that once the cat is released back where he or she was trapped the tipped ear is an indicator that that cat has been spayed or neutered to the colony caregiver. This is important when monitoring a colony of community cats because if they are not tipped it means they need to be trapped and TNR'd.

Operation Hood also maintains and cares for a colony of cats that were relocated from Hood Drive due to land development. These cats live at a safe haven they refer to as The Fence.

#communitycatsFXBG The Fence is a safe enclosure where the cats are cared for and fed daily and have access to numerous shelters some of which are heated and or have air-conditioning!

We focus our efforts to parter with indivuduals who request assistance with TNR. Empowering indivuduals to assist with TNR and showing them how to use humane traps and recovery equipment is the first step in creating a successful TNR Project!
